Twin City Celebrations
On 20 January, Rajive Kaul (Hon. Consul General for the Republic of Korea) and his wife Manjari hosted a lovely party at the Nicco Park lawns on the occasion of the Bengal Global Business Summit and the 10th Anniversary of the Twin City Sister Relations between Incheon Metropolitan City and Kolkata. The party was in honor of the Mayor of Incheon H.E. Mr. Yoo Jeong-bok who had brought with him a large 60-person delegation, some of whom had performed earlier for the cultural program hosted at the Bengal Global Business Summit. Ms. Meeryung Hall, wife of the US Consul General mesmerized the audience with her beautifully sung operatic renditions of Korean and Tagore songs. Mr. Firhad Hakim, Minister for Urban Development and for Municipal Affairs, Government of West Bengal, welcomed the mayor in a brief address.
The venue and water bodies were beautifully decorated with Korean-style lamps and lights and the crooner helped maintain the camaraderie between the two nations whilst getting the guests dancing to the old-style beats.
