The Jewel Courtyard
The Forum Courtyard in Kolkata was transformed into a carnival of new age jewelry on the 4th of February, as the Sawansukha Institute of Gemology and Jewelry Design showcased the highly innovative creations by its students. Affordable, attractive to the core, the jewelry range was based on the best of the traditional, but with a massive creative twist, some quirky, most of them dramatically showy. And executed with different themes showcasing tribal and tantra styles, temple jewelry, Rajwada jewelry, one section just for kids, another showing jewelry from recycled items, but something for every pocket.
Sawansukha Jewellers, which have the largest and finest collections of handmade diamond and jadau jewelry, and have grown as a brand with the dynamic duo of Siddhartha and Niki Sawansukha helming it, are also renowned now for their Sawansukha Institute of Gemology. This has become a sort of finishing school for young people wishing to make a career in the gem and jewelry world. Their professional training has a practical orientation and they are the only institute in Kolkata with ISO: 9001 2008 Certification.
Sawansukha Institute courses which range from month-long courses to those that are 15 months long, are designed to cater to the needs of both industry professionals as well as individuals from all walks of life. They encompass Jewelry Designing, Diamond Grading and Assorting, Gemstones, Jewel CAD, Manufacturing and various soft skills ensuring that the graduating students become master jewelers.
