On 22nd-23rd January, 2017, in association with Kolkata Literary Meet, 60 children and ThinkArts put together a fantastic Children’s Literary Meet at the Victoria Memorial (VM) Hall and Grounds. There were workshops, storytelling and performances, and the meet saw a lot of speakers too. The interaction reflected in bubbling and enthusiastic crowd. The workshops had interesting sessions such as Junior Kumbhakarna, Looking Can be Fun and other innovative ideas. Arna Seal, Shirshendu Mukhopadhay, Gemma Riaz Pala, Firozeeh Dumas, Rahul Bose, Ruskin Bond were some of the speakers who captivated the crowd. Pint-Sized Plays directed by Helen Shutt and Aay Golpo by Arna Seal were some of the storytelling and performances that took place. In order to accommodate the crowds, a number of venues were selected including Galerie88, STORY Bookstore, and the VM. The Children’s Literary Meet was all that is required to kick-start a great New Year in Kolkata.
