As we inch closer towards International Women’s Day, Hafele Design Centre decided to celebrate women of Kolkata, who are not just amazing in the kitchen but also run the world.

This event celebrated the one true love which is constant in each one of us: ‘Love for Food’ and included among others Chefs, Entrepreneurs, Restaurateurs and some of the most inspiring achievers of the city.

The event saw an amazing cooking session with some of these special ladies bonding over their favorite dishes and sharing these delicacies and their special stories of what made these dishes so special and near to their hearts, with one another.

On this occasion Chef Sharad Dewan demonstrated a few dishes which he prepares for his wife Reena on special occasions. He began with his own version of truffled scrambled eggs on butter fried toast. He then prepared pulled lamb missi roti tacos, which were not just amazing in taste but were equally unique. And his final preparation was Thai Biryani, an instant hit among the attendees.

Sharad noted: “I don't cook too often at home because I am seldom at home. But when I do it is to express lots of emotions and love. Of course it should have that signature touch which makes my food unique.” He went on to add how food has always played an integral role in their love story, thus negating the fact that cooking and kitchen are meant for the women in the family.

Rita Bhimani, PR icon and author stated during the event "I am not someone who cooks on a regular basis, but Hafele has kick started my creative urge to go on a culinary journey with luxurious overtones that is its brand equity."

Some of the guests also prepared their favorite dishes in the stunning setting at the Hafele Design Studio, a brand whose aim has always been to upgrade our kitchen experience, irrespective of the gender.

The guests shared their special recipes and stories in the comfortable kitchen setting designed by Hafele and spent a wonderful time over glasses of wine and cheese at the Hafele Design Studio (located in Topsia).

“It is indeed a wonderful experience to host the amazing women from the different walks of life to celebrate their love for food and culinary arts, as a precursor to the Women’s Day celebration. Our aim has always been to enhance your experience in the kitchen by different Hafele ranges and this event ensured a lot of fun, stories and culinary delights”- concludes Mr. Rahul Sengupta, Regional Marketing Manager, Western & Eastern India, Hafele India Pvt. Ltd

The guests included some prominent ladies of the city such as Ms. Rita Bhimani, and several restaurant owners such as Ms. Esha Dutta (Burnt Garlic), Ms. Preeyam Budhia (Café ICanFlyy), Ms. Johanne Mantosh (Scoop), Ms. Puja Baid (Piccadilly Square), Ms. Amrita Biswas (Pancham er Adday) and Cordon Bleu Chef Sunshine, and several others.
