I love the place – it is one my favorites not because it is owned by a friend and is one of the places that I brand but because it is genuinely a café that stands out among many.

The first reason of course is the fact that the café dares to defy the stereotype – while rest of it sticks to the European or more global theme (nothing wrong in that), this café is suddh desi pancham. However, enough has been spoken of Pancham’s ambience – In this post I would speak of the reasons why I love Pancham. The foodie in me loves the food here and these are my favorites.

1. The Watermelon Cooler – There is nothing better than it in a summer afternoon. It comes in a huge glass filled with ice and is the perfect thirst quencher. Not to be missed.

2. Fish Fry and Fish Rolls: No basa and only pure bhetki. So, if you are a fish puritan as I am this is your place to be. Best quality fish which is fried crisp and with the perfect tartar sauce – you cannot but want anything more.

3. Paneer in Pesto Sauce – I am not too much a paneer person but I love pesto and this combination. A very fusion twist to the desi paneer and if you are a pesto lover like me you are sure to love this.

4. Mutton Pantheras: This typical Anglo-Indian dish finds perfection in this café. This quaint colonial snack is one on my favorite list and anytime I visit the café for a heavy meal I would order this.

5. Chicken Cutlet and a cuppa: Well to sum up I like most of the menu but now as I retrospect about the café I realize that what I like best is chilling out there. The tea and coffee are amazing and paired up with any food – even simple French fries or a piece of freshly baked cake or custard bun, is an enjoyable meal.
