Food is probably the second most sought after thing during the festive days, if not the first, but that does not really dilute our interest towards delicious treats during Durga Puja or Diwali. While most of us love to binge during the festive days, but that can never mean your health will take a backseat during the festive season.

Keeping this in mind, Meropure Basket organized a live demonstration of heathy snacking items at Grace, Kolkata Centre for Creativity on 1st October 2021, to usher in the festive season with a healthy touch.

Known for their amazing collection of natural and organic foods, personal care and home essentials, Meropure Basket teamed up with Chef AuroniMookerjee to give some important people of the city a live demonstration of how our delicious yet sinful treats can be turned into healthful snacks with the use of the right ingredients.

The brain behind Meropure Basket, ShradhaGoenka said, “Food, one of the most basic and integral forms of survival, is one of the most neglected, manipulated and adulterated one, in today’s dynamic world. We buy through reference, cook through taste-buds, and eat through demand. What we really need to do is buy with research, cook with intent and eat with nourishment.”

Chef AuroniMookerjee, during his demonstration also stressed on the fact of how processed foods are one of the major reasons behind our unhealthy lifestyle and if we know the source of the ingredients, the food automatically becomes healthy & equally delightful. He even focused on the misconception that festive food cannot be indulge and luxurious while being healthy at the same time.

From organic honey to aged GobindoBhog Rice, from healthy pumpkin seeds to cold-pressed mustard oil, Chef AuroniMookerjee picked up his ingredients from the Meropure Basket to make sure the dishes were as healthy and guilt-free as they were definitely delicious.

Chef Mookerjee added, “Meropure Basket is all about premium and organic ingredients, sourced and procured strategically and consciously thus resulting in your food being safe and healthy.”

The demonstration for the evening consisted of some amazing healthy fusion snacks that can easily become your festive treats without compromising on taste. From creamy Avocado Gazpacho with a hint of Bengal’s very own cold-pressed mustard oil to Hummus on Toast with a desi twist topped multigrain bread, from Govindbhog Rice & Saffron Risotto, the idea of which stemmed from Bengal’s very own festive palette BasantiPulao, the event garnered much interest from all who joined.

The healthy and delightful dishes were tasted and appreciated by people like Rita Bhimani, ReenaDewan, Sairah Shah Halim, PreeyamBudhia, Ankita Banerjee and UshoshiSengupta, who was also the Guest of Honour for the event.

“Grace is a progressive Indian restaurant that encourages the use of indigenous ingredients to create innovative dishes rooted in local flavours. As Meropure Basket propagates high quality locally sourced ingredients, it was but natural for us to collaborate and create a great evening talking about Indian ingredients being super foods and how we can use them to create international quality dishes.” concludes Reena Dewan, Director of Kolkata Centre for Creativity.
