Everyday wear label Earthwear, inaugurated yet another exclusive retail outlet located at 14B, Lake View Road (near the Ballygunge Cultural Club) making it their third outlet in Kolkata after New Alipore and the Avani Mall outlets.

The new store is spread over an area of about 1,000 sq. feet with an earthy, wooden look and has been crafted using natural fibres and material like sitalpati, bamboo, cane and rope giving it a rustic look, providing the perfect backdrop for displaying of their handcrafted pieces. The emphasis is not just to sell products but to create a unique experience and ambience for the modern Indian woman who has a penchant for tradition.

At Earthwear, one can expect handcrafted apparel for the modern Indian woman- dresses, tunics, tops, kurtas, co-ord sets, sarees, dupattas, stoles, bottoms, skirts etc. all in hand block prints, hand-woven fabrics and hand embroideries. Hence, one can witness exciting handwoven khadi and jamdani fabrics of Bengal, dabu, bagru and ajrakh block prints of Rajasthan and Gujarat, and ‘kantha’ hand embroidery of Bengal in their collection. The emphasis is on ‘craft by hand’. And if one is looking for handcrafted accessories and gifts, one can also lay their hands on grass bags and coasters, fine reed mats, wooden platters, ceramic bowls and dokra artefacts- all to decorate and use at home, which can be exciting giveaways too.
